This is a gorgeous 2006 Stelling Crusader that is all original with original case.  This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description
Stelling Banjos have gotten very difficult to find.  Geoff Stelling was inducted into the American Banjo Museuem Hall of Fame last year and is retiring from building at the end of this year.  Stelling Banjos are not only rare they will get more rare and they are also HOT right now.
This is an all original Crusader with a Tony Pass 600TS Lost Timbre shell.  The banjo has a mahogany neck and resonator with an ebony fretboard.  The fretboard has the Crusader inlay and the headstock also has inlay work.  There is w/b/w binding on each side of the neck and resonator which has yellowed.  The hardware is nickel and all original including a no hole tone ring.  The ebony and the no hole tone ring produce a power that is definitely unique to Stelling.  This also has the original Stelling head and bridge plus original Stelling Case.  This is a cool banjo.
Condition
This is in excellent condition with some minor wear and has been professionally cleaned at our shop.  The headstock has some surface scratching which can only be seen up close and angled in certain light.  I didn’t actually see this until I was taking pictures under extremely bright light in my studio.  There is also some almost invisible pitting in the metal.  Other than that the banjo is in superb shape.
The fretboard and frets are in great shape all the way down the board.  There are spikes at the 7th-9th frets.  The hardware has all been buffed and has a really nice shine and the wood has also been waxed to a shine.  The banjo definitely looks incredible and is in really good shape.  The original case is pretty worn but it is the original case.
Set Up
This has been set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta.  The head is the original Stelling head which is set to 90.  The bridge is a Stelling compensated bridge.  The strings are the only part on this which isn’t Stelling.  They are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the banjo plays great.  This plays like butter and is a very present banjo that cuts very well.  I would almost call this aggressive.
Stelling Banjos are going to become exceptional investments and they already have been going up in value.  This is a fantastic example of a Stelling Banjo.
